Honda Car Care

Honda Car Care Tips for a Spotless Auto Exterior

Here are some ideas to keep your Honda Accord or other Honda Car or Honda SUV looking great.  We also offer a full service car wash just behind our Honda Dealership in York PA.

1. Wash your Honda in a shaded area. Your vehicle’s surface should be cool. If the
car’s hot, the soap suds will dry too quickly, staining the surface and requiring
another wash.

2. Use mild liquid soap and a car-wash mitt or sponge-- and don't skimp on the
water.  Rinse frequently.

3. You should always wash the lower sections of your car  first.   Wash one section at a time, and then rinse it off. Start with the roof of the car, got to the hood and then wash the rear of the car. Next, clean the upper sections of the sides, and then, finally, clean the lower areas again to remove any stubborn stains.  Don't forget the rocker panels and tires.

4. Always hose off your car wash mitt or sponge before putting it back in the wash bucket to
re-soap.

5. Rinse your Honda thoroughly. When you think you're done rinsing—that’s when
you rinse it one more time to be sure!

6. Use a different sponge or mitt to wash car tires and rims. Using a separate mitt for the
car wheels will reduce the chance that you’ll scratch the car’s paint with brake dust
and dirt you pick up from the rims.

7. Be very cautious when cleaning wheels, especially if you’re using a spray-on
wheel cleaner. Alloy car wheels can be extremely hot if the car has just been driven. When you spray wheelcleaning chemicals on hot metal, the chemicals will evaporate—and you’ll inhale
them, which can’t possibly be good for you.

8. Dry your vehicle immediately, to prevent water spots. Chamois work well. Any old towel or soft cloth will do.
